Hits at Fairway & Greene
Got a chance to head up today to Fairway & Greene's showroom in Shelton, Conn. and visit with Teri Schliefer, who designs the men's and women's collections. The masters of mercerized cotton are going through their own little revolution these days - searching for new ways to incorporate tech "Pureformance" gear into it's benchmark luxury golf brand -- and under the radar, without alienating it's fanbase who loves cotton. The emerging trend for hybrid shirts, including Pureformance, that are striped like a traditional polo, but made from performance fabrics, may be what brings golf's distinct fashion audiences together.

Here are a few shots from my visit. I love how Teri approaches color. It's like she wants F&G to "own" a particular color story for a season. Pay attention to the abstract crossed golf tees in one of the silk woven ties. What a subtle, not-so-obvious way to get a way with a little golf off-course. -Annmarie Dodd
